From the Bottom to the Top

My name is Dylan Sheel, I am currently in year 9 and when I grow up I want to be a doctor. I live on a farm with my family, the closest city is over 300 kilometres away. I love school, my favourite subjects are Mathematics and Science. I get to school by catching a bus, it is about a 45 min drive, but that doesn’t bother me because it gives me time to study on the way. I am a straight A student, plainly just because I put in the work to achieve these standards.

I have 3 brothers who all have left school to help my parents work on the farm. My parents have been hinting to me to leave school and come help out on the farm. But I have always said that I love school and I am achieving my goals and I can only ever improve more.

Then it happened, I walked from the bus stop to the farm and when I walked through the front door, there they were on the couch. They sat me down, I knew what was coming. Can you guess what it was, yep, they said that they know it will be tough for me to leave school and come to the farm, but in actual fact I had no choice because the farm needed help and I was going to be that help.

 

3 Years Later

It has been three years now since I left school, and can I tell you that I am quite sick of it. Over this time I have had 6 snake bites, had 2 encounters with foxes and been chased by 1 kangaroo. I have been wanting to tell them that I am sick of it but I just can’t, they need me to help them, you would understand if you lived on a farm. I miss school and I only see my friends about once every 4 weeks, when we all have a time to come and meet. We talk, mess around you know what I mean, they keep telling me to come back to school, but I can’t.

Then it happened, we had just finished dinner, I said “can we talk about something on the couch”? Mum and Dad said that I was right I had done my years on the farm. If getting a job and making myself a life didn’t work I always had the farm to fall back on.

 

 

 

Thanks guys for reading this I hope that this has taught you that even if the path hasn’t been paved out yet for you, then don’t be afraid to go and get the cement and pave it yourself.

Bang!!! What a start to the season for the tigers 43 point win over the blues. Credit to them for giving us a great game, but try harder next time. No jokes, in all matters Carlton played an absolutely stunning game. I mean seriously Richmond were like a whole new team. Dusty Dusty Martin 4 goals 33 disposals, disposal efficiency 73%. Prestia and Caddy the roommates both great performances, the big man Toby Nankervis an absolute gun with those contested marks. Just a great all round performance by the boys. Do it against the pies, GO TIGERS

What is Netiquette?

The correct or acceptable way of using the Internet.

 

  1. Don’t Span
  2. Don’t use capital letters because it means that you are shouting
  3. Respect others privacy
  4. Avoid sarcasm
  5. Don’t say disrespectful things about others.
  6. Do not reveal personal info to the internet because there are some bad people out there.
  7. If you get email from people you don’t know of don’t open it.

Hey guys this is Richmond’s Rookie Recruit welcome to my first blog. By now if you haven’t already lit the fireworks of I would recommend you save them for the end of this year when Richmond win the 2017 AFL Premiership. I have got some bad news, I will not be talking about Richmond today. But they will be playing tonight so keep posted for that, depending on where you live. Today my blog post will be on the Advantages and Disadvantages of computer use.

 

Advantages of computer use:

 

One of the biggest advantages of computer use is being able to communicate with long distance friends. For example when I lived overseas I developed a lot of it relationships with friends. Thanks to Skype, FaceTime, Message etc. I was able to still communicate with my friends, even though they might live over 18 hours away from me.

 

Another one of the advantages of computer use is the fact that it has computer spell check, an example of this is if you are writing a real formal letter and you make a mistake well spell check has your back. Or if you need a calculator the computer has your back, if you need to look up a word to get the definition the computer has your back.

 

Disadvantages of computer use:

 

One of the disadvantages if computer use is addiction. This is a huge problem on computers, kids, adults getting addicted over games shopping sites this leads to people spending money on these useless websites. It can lead to no sleep, this can lead to fatigue in this persons everyday life.

 

There is always another disadvantage of computer use bullying social media bullying kids taking photos and posting them and then other people comment and bring this person down, it is a horrible thing social media bullying and it needs to stop.
